Hi, I’m Sean
About 12 years ago I started my primal health journey. It began with The Primal Blueprint book by Mark Sisson. The ancestral health movement just made sense in how our bodies were meant to live and thrive in a much more natural way. Having suffered from back pain due to a compressed disc injury on deployment I was interested in alternative methods for healing. At the same time, I was now working at a gold mining company, working shift work and getting little sleep, while eating quick unhealthy meals I could pack with me. My health was rapidly declining. Combine that with my love for hunting, backpacking and nature, I needed a way to keep doing what I love without the pain.
So, my wife and I started making changes. We began by cutting out bread, pasta and cereals which is a huge change from the standard American diet. We filled our plates with meat and vegetables, learning as we went. As I lowered the amount of inflammatory foods I was ingesting, I noticed my back pain decrease to zero. The further into the primal lifestyle I went, the more changes I saw in my health. I lost excess weight and was fine tuning my health to be able to hike up mountains to locations of my choice. I was freer to live my life the way we were intended to, the Primal way. Working a rotating shift schedule is very difficult to work around, but with intention around sleep, food and movement I have been able to live more optimally, and now I want to teach you!
My Approach
My approach to coaching comes from personal experience as well as extensive research on diet, movement and counteracting a shift work lifestyle. I don’t believe in an over complicated, overly strict diet. I believe that health can be and should be easy. I believe in the 80/20 rule, following your diet and lifestyle 80 percent of the time allows for some leeway to enjoy yourself occasionally. I don’t believe in destroying yourself in the gym, or that you need to in order to be lean and look great. I believe in consistency; I believe that slow and steady wins the race. Thats how I live my life, and that’s how I teach others to live their best.
